High-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters provide a superior level of cabin air filtration that surpasses industry efficiency standards. Donaldson HEPA filters are approved by original equipment manufacturers (OEM) on many major aircraft platforms. We Surpass HEPA Filter Industry Standards
The industry standard for HEPA filters is to capture a minimum of 99.97 percent of contaminants at 0.3 microns in size. (The HEPA filter micron size of 0.3 is used as a benchmark in efficiency ratings because it approximates the most difficult particle size for a HEPA filter to capture.) In an independent research study by Nelson Laboratories, Donaldson standard HEPA filter media achieved a removal efficiency of greater than 99.999% in this micron size.
