Then we will get into different types of hoods, how to calculate hood losses, and examples of hood design (both good and bad). We will finish up with a Q&A session. Dust Collection System Basic for Engineers is a half-day, entry-level course that teaches the basics of designing dust collection systems. Access to products, subject matter experts, real-life scenarios, and group discussions will help participants to learn about system design. This course may qualify for 5 PDH credit hours, depending on your state.
We will talk about the basics of dust collection, including some fundamentals and calculations pertaining to duct design.
Then we will get into different types of ducts (including our recommendations for when to use them), how to determine and measure duct velocity, and how to calculate duct losses (straight runs, elbows, branch entries) to determine static pressure at the fan. We will finish up with a Q&A session.

Donaldson is hosting this 5-hour, in-person class that covers the basics of designing dust collection systems. You will learn important concepts, calculations, terminologies, examples of proper design, and regulatory considerations from experienced industry professionals. You can earn 5 PDH credits.

Dust Collection System Basic Maintenance & Troubleshooting is a 1-day, entry-level course for customers that teaches the basics of servicing dust collection systems. Access to products, subject matter experts, small and large group discussions, and hands-on activities will help participants to learn about optional system performance. The overall goal is for participants to apply what they learned to better maintain the dust collection systems at their facility.
Cost: The class is being offered free of charge for Donaldson customers.
